A quick post about setting up my PayPal.me link, which allows you to receive payments from anyone in the world via a simple link.
I've had a PayPal.me link set up for about a year, but didn't really pay much attention to it. PayPal.me links allow anyone in the world to (very) easily send you money - it's almost too easy.
Setting Up the Link
To set up your link, you first have to enable it. You can do this in PayPal settings - either on a web browser, or in one of the mobile apps. After you've enabled it, you have a few options for customisation. These are:
- The link itself
- Privacy settings (find by phone/email)
- Default payment type (people can change this when they use your link)
- Blocked users
- Location settings
- A greeting message for your customers
- A background image
In addition to these, your regular PayPal name and profile picture are shown:
Modifying Your Link
Unfortunately, it's not possible to change your PayPal.me link after it's created. I'm stuck with https://paypal.me/samcrxss until PayPal change that behaviour. You can still change all the other settings listed above, though!
Thank you for reading! I'll be posting more soon, so be sure to keep an eye out.
P.S: I'll probably write a post about integrating an email/RSS feed into my Strapi + Next.JS website soon - stay tuned.
